Great deep relaxation in flotation tank helps people

What is flotation? Sensory Deprivation & Deep relaxation benefits

Deep relaxation that helps people — and creates a profitable business.

Floating, also known as flotation REST, is one of the most effective ways to help people relax deeply — both physically and mentally.

So, What Happens When You Float?

Floating means lying effortlessly in warm water filled with Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) inside a quiet, light-controlled float tank.

Effortless buoyancy

High-density Epsom salt water lets your body float naturally without effort.

Perfect thermal match

Water and air at skin temperature (~35°C) eliminate any sense of boundary between body and environment. The body can no longer feel the boundary between the air and the water.

Total sensory reduction

Minimal light and sound allow the brain to rest deeply, leading to profound relaxation.

The Flotation Journey: A simple 3-step process for maximum relaxation and mental clarity.

Step One: Preparation & entry

Begin with a refreshing shower to rinse off any lotions, oils, or impurities – this keeps the saltwater crystal clear for everyone. Once ready, step easily through the wide side entrance of the Spirit float tank (no climbing required). Lie back gently into the soothing, skin-temperature Epsom salt solution. Your body instantly becomes weightless, tension melts away, and you start to feel the first wave of calm as gravity disappears.

Step Two: Deep relaxation & float

Close the lid (or leave it open if you prefer – the choice is yours). The tank’s controlled environment reduces light and sound to near-zero, while the water and air match your skin temperature perfectly (~35°C), blurring the boundary between body and surroundings. Here, your mind and body can fully unwind: muscles release deeply, stress hormones drop, and many enter a meditative state of profound calm, creativity, or even timelessness. Simply drift – no effort needed.

Step Three: Emergence & rejuvenation

A gentle audio signal (soft chimes or music) lets you know the session is ending. Open the lid, step out slowly, and take a final shower to rinse off the salt. Most people emerge feeling refreshed, mentally clear, and energized – often with better mood, reduced anxiety, and improved sleep quality that lasts for days. Carry this deep relaxation into your everyday life.

Depending on country, industry, or context, you may hear terms such as:

  • Float tank
  • Float pod
  • Isolation tank
  • Sensory deprivation tank
