Float Center Planning FAQ – Get Started with Spirit
Starting with floating is easier than most people expect. In most cases, you only need:
- One dedicated room
- A shower (before and after floating)
- Electricity (~230V, one phase)
- Basic ventilation
No external pump room, no complex plumbing, and no large technical cabinet are required.
All essential systems — filtration, circulation, heating, and water treatment — are fully integrated inside the tank.
Installation typically takes 1.5–2 hours.
Most owners can do it, or a local handyman is usually sufficient, and no float-specific specialists are required.
Yes.
Daily routines are designed so one person can manage cleaning, filtration, and operation efficiently.
Yes.
The system is designed for professional environments with stable performance, predictable routines, and minimal downtime — even with frequent daily sessions.
Absolutely.
Many operators start with one tank and expand later.
Because the Spirit system:
- Has no external pump room
- Uses identical routines
- Requires minimal infrastructure
…it is easy to scale with multiple tanks in the same location.
We have a budget file that we can provide, which may be useful to you.
Short answer: It depends on how well you can explain floating to people who are not familiar with it.
As an example, here are two scenarios:
Scenario 1: 6 float sessions per day, 5 days a week 30 float sessions × 80 EUR = 2,400 EUR per week
Scenario 2: 2 float sessions per day, 5 days a week 10 float sessions × 60 EUR = 600 EUR per week
Operating cost per float session:
Scenario 1: 48 EUR per week
Scenario 2: 16 EUR per week
Fixed weekly costs:
Electricity and hydrogen peroxide: 26.60 EUR
Salt (1-year supply): 13.30 EUR
Tank depreciation (3-year write-off): 127 EUR
Conclusion: Operating costs are very low compared to sales revenue. Please ask us for our detailed budget PDF for more information.

Scalability with multiple tanks
Two decades of operational experience
Some of our operators have run tanks for several years without ever fully changing the water, thanks to:
- Extremely high salt concentration (≈35% Epsom salt) that naturally inhibits bacterial growth.
- Daily multi-stage filtration with mechanical filters and UV-C sterilization.
- Regular addition of hydrogen peroxide as a safe, effective disinfectant.
- Strict pre-float shower requirement for every guest, minimizing contamination.
Most of the time, you only need to top up water and salt when levels drop due to evaporation or minor splashing – this keeps costs very low and maintenance simple.
We recommend monitoring water clarity, pH, and salinity regularly (easy with test strips). If the water ever looks cloudy or smells off, change it sooner – but with proper routines, this is rare.
For personalized advice on your usage, contact us – we’re happy to share our long-term maintenance experiences from tanks that have run flawlessly for years without a full water change!
For the best customer experience, we recommend installing the Spirit Float Tank in a spacious, comfortable room.
However, the tank is designed to fit efficiently even in more compact spaces.
The Spirit Float Tank measures 2.60 m in length and 1.60 m in width. A minimum room size of 3.00 m × 2.40 m is required, with additional space planned for the shower.
This efficient footprint makes the Spirit Float Tank easy to integrate into existing spa, wellness, or therapy facilities while still providing a premium floating experience.
Hygiene is a top priority in professional float tanks.
Every guest is required to shower before their float session, ensuring they enter the tank completely clean.
During the session, the person remains completely still in the water. The water temperature is maintained at skin temperature, which prevents sweating and eliminates the risk of water contamination.
After each float session, the filtration system is activated. The system includes a prefilter, a mechanical filter, and a UV-C sterilization chamber, ensuring thorough water purification.
In addition, hydrogen peroxide is used daily as a safe, effective, and easy-to-handle bactericidal agent, providing an extra layer of hygiene and water clarity.
No. The floating tank is a standalone, self-contained unit that operates independently and requires no additional plumbing or infrastructure.
The only requirement is a standard electrical connection: 230 V, 10 A, single-phase.
Yes.
The Restingwell Spirit Float Tank is one of very few tanks on the market that allows clients to walk directly into the float area, without having to crawl in or out of the tank.
This open and accessible design makes it especially suitable for people with claustrophobia.
Add to that the floating tank is enormously large inside and the opening is directly on the long side.
