Flotation-REST

Flotation-REST (Restricted Environmental Stimulation Technique) or as John C. Lilly wrote 1981 REST="Restoring Energy Safely Therapy" Research have been made now for over sixty years and still is floating almost unknowned around the world. How can that be? Well, we in Sweden have had research made by researchteams at Gothenburg and Karlstad Universities among others.

Floating and swimming are as old as our species, but floating in a floatation therapy tank with warm Epsom Salts was developed in 1954 by Dr. John C Lilly who was a neurophysiologist and psychoanalyst.

Let your mind be in a quiet, peaceful situation in harmony with your body.Your problems will naturally dissolve and you will feel great. It is definitely worth a try. After the first 2-3 sessions you can already learn how to feel instantaneous enjoyment and carry it with you into your daily life. These sessions will give you such a boost of energy and enjoyment that you will want to come back again. The amount of pleasure hormones released in your brain during the session is equivalent to what a you can achieve after the first 30 times of daily meditation some says. Many famous sportsmen and sportswomen use/used the therapy as a regular part of their training. The Australian Institute of Sport has been recommending tank floatation since 1983. NASA use floating tanks for astronauts’ trainings since sixty years back. Due to the high salt levels in the water, the flotation tank creates a zero gravity environment. Unless you are an astronaut the flotation tank is the only situation you will encounter where your body is free from gravity.
